July 19, 2017, the TMC InterContinental Hotel project celebrated the milestone for completing the structural concrete by holding the “Topping Out Ceremony”.

The TMC InterContinental Hotel is located in Texas Medical Center ("TMC"), the largest medical center in the world. TMC includes over 9200 beds, and each year receives more than 10 million patients, including 75,000 emergency cases. The Texas Medical Center conducts more than 18 million annual surgeries, and attracts a large number of international patients. All this medical services creates a strong demand hotel rooms.

The TMC InterContinental Hotel will be the first four-star luxury hotel in TMC. The hotel has GBA of ​​about 40,400 square meters, with about 1,100 square meters of meeting space and a 725 square meters large banquet hall. The construction started in July 2016.

At the Topping out ceremony, Mr. Monzer Hourani, CEO of Medistar Corporation, had highly praises for engineering and construction management capabilities of GHJ Construction. He also affirmed his trust in the expertise and collaboration of the GHJ team. Furthermore, he acclaimed the strong value he placed on BCEG and Medistar’s being long-term partners.

Mr. Yan Xing, President & Chairman of BCEGI US & BCEGI UK, expressed his gratitude to the owners and all the project participants for working in harmony as team to get this challenging project completed. He also spoke to the importants of the partnership between BCEG and Medistar , and pointed out that the TMC project is a new significant landmark for the medical center. Mr. Xing concluded by commended the GHJ team's performance and awarded several of the outstanding employees-Gary Minor received an award for his outstanding Leadership, Erick Jones received an award for his outstanding Problem Solving, and Carolina Hernandez received the award for the outstand New Comer to the GHJ Team.

In addition, Joel Eisemann, representative of InterContinental Hotels Group, and Steve Lerner, representative of TRC Capital Partners, also made speeches, acknowledging the significant milestone achieved for the project and expressed full confidence in the completion and success of the TMC InterContinental Hotel.

BCEGI US was established in July 2007 in Texas. The past projects include Forney Medical Office Building in Texas, the rebuild of the Gulfport Mississippi Harbor after hurricane Katrina, road repair work in New Orleans, the Northline Apartments in Houston Texas, and a senior housing project in Riverside, California.
